Sumatra Earthquake

The 7.6-magnitude earthquake that rocked Western Coast of Sumatra, Indonesia last Wednesday had killed more than thousands people. The toll continues to rise, and the needs of survivors are many. A Red Cross official said the final death toll would exceed 3,000. Most foreign search and rescue teams were leaving the country as there was almost no hope any more survivors would be found beneath the debris seven days after the quake.

Our Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak talked to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono of Malaysian people and government's deep concern and condolences over the devastating earthquake in Padang. Furthermore, our government had sent a search and rescue team, paramedics, surgeons, military personnel, medicine and food to Sumatra.

Indonesia is our neighbour, with its people having cultural and blood ties with us. Malaysia & Indonesia are related in many way and inseparable just like brothers & sisters of one blood. Long life Malaysia & Indonesia. Let us help the people in Padang who is in need. Today we help them. Maybe tomorrow we are the one who need help.

Malaysia is a blessed country as its people have never suffered any major natural disaster before. However, we cant prediate what happen tomorrow. Therefore we must treasure everything we have now. These were what I found on web. What can I do to help the victims? Leo Spirit?
